The following is an overview of the programs that are offered.


1. Certified Medical Administrative Assistant Course in-class or on-line    ($3,999.00)


To be eligible for this 100-hour non-credit course, candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Upon completing the course, program graduates will have a strong background in office skills and a working knowledge of the medical field to prepare them for clerical careers in healthcare and other fields. In addition, this course includes a final practice exam to help prepare applicants for the National Health Association's Certified Medical Administrative Assistant examination (the "NHA–CMAA Exam").


Medical administrative assistants are important members of the medical office administrative staff – they keep medical offices running efficiently and are responsible for providing vital information to doctors, patients, medical office staff, and external organizations. Among other duties, medical administrative assistants play a key role in patient services by answering phones, greeting patients and triaging appointments.


Curriculum: The program was designed to achieve maximum flexibility for your schedule, and allows you to attend part-time, or full-time. It will include a practice exam session. Information will be presented to students in the form of lectures, labs, and audio/visual and PowerPoint presentations.


2. Dental Assisting Course     ($3,225.00)


This 72-hour non-credit continuing education course is designed for individuals with little or no dental background. However, to be eligible, program candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Upon completion of the course, program graduates will be equipped with the necessary foundational knowledge of infection control, dental procedures, equipment, and skills to successfully enter the growing field of dental assisting.

This program gives students a foundational understanding of dentistry and professional responsibility including lessons in medical ethics, safety protocol, and searching for dental assisting jobs. Students will receive instruction in general office duties, reception and patient intake, equipment maintenance and sterilization, and basic concepts in radiography.

3. Dental Assisting with Dental Radiology Course     ($3,995.00)


To be eligible for this 124.5 -hours non-credit program, candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Program consist of two parts - Dental Assisting -72 hours and Dental Radiology - 52.5 hours. Upon completion of the course, program graduates will be equipped with the necessary academic background knowledge to become a Certified Dental Assistant.


This program prepares students to provide patient care, prepare patients and equipment for dental procedures, and accomplish office administrative tasks under the supervision of dentists and dental hygienists. Students will receive instruction in medical record-keeping, general office duties, reception and patient intake, scheduling, equipment maintenance and sterilization, pre- and post-operative patient care and instruction, chairside assisting, taking tooth and mouth impressions, and supervise practice. Students will be able to take X-Rays, will be well versed in radiation safety for patient and self, theory of exposure process, mount radiographs, and prepare dental films for the dental office.


After completion of this course students will be able to take X-Rays, well versed in radiation safety for patient and self, theory of exposure process, mount radiographs, and prepare dental films for the dental office. Students will be eligible to sit in for DANB Radiological Technologist Exam


Curriculum: The program was designed to achieve maximum flexibility for your schedule, and allows you to attend part-time, or full-time. It will include all necessary content for the General Chairside and Infection Control portions of the Dental Assisting National Board’s Certified Dental Assistant National Board Examination. Information will be presented to students in the form of lectures involving audio/visual aids and PowerPoint presentations.


4. Dental Billing and Coding Specialist Course     ($3,999.00)


To be eligible for this 60-hour non-credit course, candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Upon completion of the course, program graduates will be prepared to sit for the Certified Dental Coder Exam ("CDC Exam") or Certified Dental Coder – Apprentice Exam ("CDC-A Exam").


This course is intended to give students insight into the specialized coding procedures and techniques required for billing dental insurance providers and keeping track of client reimbursements. Students will learn proper submission procedures for client authorizations, insurance claims, and patient eligibility verifications; in addition they will learn to perform collections and explain billing procedures to clients.

5. Dental Radiology Course     ($825.00)


To be eligible for this 52.5-hour non-credit course, candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent. This course is approved and accredited by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and New Jersey Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners, and is designed to prepare students for state licensing exam in dental radiology. After completion of this course students will be able to take X-Rays, will be well versed in radiation safety for patient and self, theory of exposure process, mount radiographs, and prepare dental films for the dental office. Students will be eligible to sit in for DANB Radiological Technologist Exam.

Curriculum: Fundamentals of radiology and radiation safety, radiographic anatomy and interpretation, intra-oral and extra-oral radiographic techniques, and quality assurance techniques.


6. Patient Care Technician Course     ($3,999.00)

To be eligible for this 130-hour non-credit course, candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent.


This program is designed to teach students the basic skills necessary for employment as a Patient Care Technician. A qualified Patient Care Technician is capable of performing a wide range of duties, with a variety of technical detail. The students will learn how to perform EKG, how to perform phlebotomy and patient care skills under the supervision of registered nurses.


Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible for National Certification Exams through National Health Association to be a Certified Patient Care Technician / Assistant (CPCT), Certified EKG Technician, and Certified Phlebotomy Technician.

A primary focus of the Dental & Medical Career Training Institute is to offer quality flexible programs to accommodate the schedules of its students. By offering practical training onsite and in cooperation with local dental and medical offices, we allow our students to coordinate their own training schedule.
